The Rooms are Lovely and Spacious and Clean

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. We stayed for 8 nights in total in April with a three night break when we went scuba diving.

The rooms are lovely and spacious and clean. The pool at the Marriot is pretty amazing though so it’s worth sneaking up there for that! They get cleaned every day and on one occasion when we had a problem (our air conditioner started leaking a lot of water) it was fixed immediately. The best mojitos I had on the trip (and I had a few!) were at this hotel. It is just down the beach from the Marriott and we snuck in there to the bar one night for Happy Hour (you’re meant to be a guest!) and we actually preferred Andamania’s lovely lush jungle garden to the very manicured Marriot. We hired a scooter which worked well, except when it was thundering with rain and we felt unsafe taking it out. We used the shuttle service once. Staff were in general friendly and helpful, some didn’t have much English but there was always someone around who could talk to us. There were plenty of beach chairs in the shade and the hotel restaurant was a good option (as you’d expect a bit more expensive than regular restaurants but not outrageously so, and we had nice food). The beach is right there and very nice, however the Andaman sea (during April) was about 30 degrees so wasn’t exactly refreshing (not exactly the resort‘s fault though!) but the pool was very nice too and we’d often swim there. Plus the drink prices there were double at Andamania (which are almost double what you get in a cheap restaurant!). The hotel is not walking distance to the town, though there are a handful of restaurants close by.

Breakfast was good, plenty of food, nice fresh veggies and fruit, and bay maries of hot food and also fresh omlettes.

The second room we stayed in was near the fish ponds and the internet was a bit patchy. But it was fine for checking email etc. The staff told us that next year they’re getting better internet. For example I couldn’t download photos I’d been sent from the dive trip, and you definitely wouldn’t be able to watch netflix for example.

For the price we paid we felt that Andamania was EXCELLENT value.
