Food: we thought we would be traveling to other resorts for food. He works 16 hour days and splits himself from managing the resort, cooking in the kitchen to making exceptional cocktails behind the bar (best Mojito in Thailand). Monte (Manager) is a little Thai legend. Stick to the Thai cuisine and you won’t be disappointed: we’ve eaten some of Monte’s signature dishes like garlic and pepper prawns, Penang curry chicken to a scrumptious papaya salad (again with prawns!). Every time we went to another spot for food, always compared it to our resort.
Monte will also organize a scooter so you can get around the island for 300 THB per day.
We stayed for 4 nights and didn’t want to leave. The accommodation couldn’t be any closer to the beach! It’s so close I’m on the wifi and about 20m away from the water.
Highly recommend this stay if you want to be away from all the noise of tourists but still need some of life’s little luxuries.
NB: there’s a tiny hidden restaurant walking distance on the sand called Mamma’s. It’s so authentic Thai they don’t even have electricity! Ask Monte for directions when you check in…
