The King Rama II Memorial Park: A Tribute of Pride

As the second king of the Chakri dynasty King Rama II sometimes referred to as Buddha Loetla Nabhalai is part of the royal dynasty that still rules Thailand. In 1968 UNESCO honored the King by naming him one of the greatest personalities world over who had much to his credit with his achievements as a mighty warrior, great poet, sculptor, ruler and artist. In honour of the Kings’s many talents and abilities the park was built in memory of him in Amphawa County on the Mae Klong in the year of 1979 on land donated by the temple. The park is located in a simple surrounding where life is pretty laid back and everything still remains uncomplicated. This little unassuming city is also the birthplace of King Rama II.

This is a park surrounded with beauty where everything has reason and a meaning behind it. Four of the five houses were later converted into museums where objects of art and reflections of the King himself are now displayed.
